AD Ports Group Enters Latin America With $835m Acquisition of Brazil's CLI

AD Ports Group has agreed to acquire Corredor Logistica e Infraestrutura (CLI), Brazil's leading independent agri-bulk port terminal operator, for an enterprise value of 3.1 billion dirhams ($835 million), marking its entry into Latin America and its largest acquisition to date. The deal was announced on 2 June 2026.

The Abu Dhabi-listed ports and logistics group is buying CLI from joint owners Macquarie Asset Management and IG4 Capital. CLI handled around 17 million tonnes of agri-bulk cargo in 2025, and the acquisition gives AD Ports a platform in the global agricultural commodities supply chain. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory and antitrust approvals.

The move fits AD Ports' strategy of building an international network of ports, terminals and logistics assets, extending its reach from the Gulf and the Red Sea into new trade corridors. Brazil is one of the world's largest exporters of grains and other agricultural products, and control of dedicated agri-bulk terminals positions the group in a high-volume commodity flow.

The CLI deal continues an acquisitive stretch for the company, which has expanded across ports, maritime services and logistics in multiple regions. It also comes as Abu Dhabi's state-linked entities pursue overseas assets to diversify revenue and secure strategic supply-chain infrastructure.

For AD Ports, entering Latin America broadens a portfolio that already spans the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia, and strengthens its exposure to global agricultural trade as demand for reliable bulk-handling capacity grows.
