Carbon-Removal Firm 44.01 Raises $5m Series A Extension as It Scales UAE Mineralisation
The XPRIZE-winning startup added $5m from Norway's Nysno Climate Investments and Jasoor Ventures and began injecting CO2 at its scaled-up storage site in Fujairah, UAE.

44.01, the carbon-mineralisation company, secured an additional $5 million in Series A funding from Norway's Nysno Climate Investments and Jasoor Ventures, taking total funding to about $62.7 million. The company permanently removes CO2 by mineralising it in mafic and ultramafic rock.
44.01 has begun injecting CO2 at a scaled-up storage site in Fujairah, UAE, expanding its XPRIZE-winning Project Hajar, and launched a capture-and-mineralisation pilot with Holcim. The startup operates across the UAE and Oman.
