Checkout.com Partners Saudi Pharmacy Giant Nahdi to Power Digital Payments Across the GCC
The payments company will process online payments for Nahdi Medical, Saudi Arabia's largest retail pharmacy chain.
Global payments company Checkout.com has signed a strategic partnership with Nahdi Medical Company, Saudi Arabia's largest retail pharmacy chain and an integrated omnihealth platform, to power digital payments across the Kingdom and the wider GCC. The agreement was announced on 3 June 2026.
Under the collaboration, Checkout.com will integrate its payment acquiring and processing technology into Nahdi's online platforms, with the aim of optimising the digital payment experience and lifting payment success rates for the retailer's millions of customers in Saudi Arabia and across the region. The companies said the focus is on delivering a faster, more secure and more reliable checkout for shoppers buying health, wellness, beauty and other products.
Remo Giovanni Abbondandolo, general manager for the Middle East and North Africa at Checkout.com, said the company's platform is built to handle the complexities of regional markets, including diverse payment preferences, and would help Nahdi unlock new growth opportunities across the GCC.
The deal reflects the intensifying competition among global and regional payment providers to win large enterprise merchants in Saudi Arabia, where e-commerce and omnichannel retail are expanding rapidly. For Nahdi, which operates one of the Kingdom's most extensive pharmacy and health-retail networks, higher payment acceptance rates and a smoother online checkout are increasingly central to converting digital demand.
Checkout.com has been deepening its presence in the Middle East, positioning payment performance and localisation as differentiators in a market where merchants must support a mix of cards, wallets and locally preferred methods.
