In February 2025, UAE self-storage provider The Box secured $12.5m in debt financing led by Shorooq. The capital will fund new flagship storage facilities in Dubai, taking the company's total borrowings to about $31.5m since 2014.
The Box operates around 30 facilities, including a 140,000-square-foot flagship, offering units ranging from 25 to 1,000 square feet. Demand for flexible personal and business storage has grown alongside the UAE's expanding, expat-heavy population.
