Egypt's Palm Raises Over $1m Pre-Seed Led by 4DX Ventures for Goal-Based Savings
The fintech wants to embed investing into everyday spending, giving Egyptians a mindful, outcome-focused route to save and grow their money.
Palm, an Egyptian fintech, has raised more than $1 million in a pre-seed round led by 4DX Ventures to build a platform that helps users achieve savings and investment goals. The company did not disclose the exact size of the round.
Palm combines behavioural incentives, integrated financial services and access to a range of investment types, including fixed income, equities and precious metals. The startup's pitch is to shift the savings mindset by embedding investing into the spending process, offering exclusive merchant discounts that reduce outlays while channelling the savings toward users' financial goals. According to the company, the aim is to make saving "more mindful, goal-driven, and outcome-focused."
Founded in 2024 by Mazen El Kerdany and Ahmed Ashour, who bring backgrounds in financial services and consumer technology, Palm is targeting a large base of Egyptians who save informally or not at all. The pre-seed capital gives the team runway to build product and grow early adoption.
The round adds to a steady flow of consumer-fintech activity in Egypt, where a young population, high inflation and low formal-savings penetration have drawn founders and investors to products that make investing accessible and habitual.
