Egypt's Sawari Ventures Targets $200m Second Fund to Expand Beyond North Africa
Sawari Ventures said its second fund, structured as a local Egypt vehicle plus an international fund, would extend its reach into West and East Africa while backing fintech, deep tech, edtech, health tech and climate tech.
Sawari Ventures said it was raising a second fund targeting $200m, comprising a local capital-focused Egypt fund and an international fund aimed at foreign investors and development finance institutions. About 70% of the capital is earmarked for Egyptian startups, mainly at Series A and B.
The firm said the fund would broaden its focus beyond North Africa into markets such as Kenya and West Africa, investing across fintech, deep tech, digital education, health tech, climate tech and agritech. Sawari has previously backed companies including MoneyFellows, Si-Ware and Elves.
