In November 2024, Egyptian online used-car retailer Sylndr secured a $7.45m working-capital facility tailored to the specific dynamics of its business model, adding to roughly $10m in debt raised from local banks. Founded in 2021 by Omar El Defrawy, Sylndr lets customers buy, sell, finance and service used cars with inspection and warranty guarantees.
The facility bolstered Sylndr's inventory financing ahead of its $15.7m Series A in May 2025, bringing total capital raised since launch to more than $30m as it worked to formalise Egypt's fragmented used-car market.
