PayTabs Group acquires UAE's TAPn'GO to bring contactless checkout into its super app
PayTabs Group acquired 100% of UAE contactless payments firm TAPn'GO to integrate smartphone-based checkout, loyalty and bill-splitting into its super app. Terms were not disclosed.
PayTabs Group, the Saudi-headquartered payments provider, has acquired UAE-based contactless payments company TAPn'GO, taking a 100% stake in the technology. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
TAPn'GO offers a smartphone-based contactless payment solution used across retail, hospitality, healthcare, entertainment and donation platforms. Its features include point-of-sale synchronisation, built-in loyalty, bill-splitting, digital tipping and paperless receipts. Following the acquisition, the technology becomes proprietary to PayTabs and will be folded into the PayTabs super app to enable real-time contactless checkouts across MENA.
PayTabs CEO and founder Abdulaziz Al Jouf said the acquisition strengthens the group's position as a regional distribution hub. The company said more than 20,000 businesses across the region are expected to adopt the combined solution.
