Saudi On-Demand Staffing Platform Sabbar Raises $4m Pre-Series A Led by STV
The flexible-staffing marketplace lands backing from STV to scale blue-collar hiring across high-turnover industries in the Kingdom.
Sabbar, a Saudi on-demand staffing platform, has raised $4 million in a pre-Series A round led by regional venture firm STV, with participation from returning backers Derayah VC and Seedra Ventures. The financing positioned the startup to scale a marketplace focused on flexible, blue-collar work.
Founded in 2019 by Mohamed T. Ibrahim, Abdulrahman AlMudaiheem and Afnan Sherbeeni, Sabbar connects workers with employers in high-turnover industries such as retail, hospitality and entertainment, streamlining hiring, scheduling and payroll for temporary and shift-based roles. The company targets what it describes as an $11 billion temporary staffing market across the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.
Sabbar said the capital would fund product development and geographic growth as it built out its supply of vetted workers and its base of enterprise employers. The platform aims to formalise and digitise a segment of the labour market that has traditionally relied on informal agencies and manual coordination.
The raise reflected investor interest in workforce and gig-economy infrastructure in the Gulf, where rapid growth in retail, logistics and hospitality has intensified demand for flexible staffing solutions.
