Saudi SME Lender Forus Secures $60m Debt Facility From Fasanara to Scale Working-Capital Loans
The Riyadh debt-crowdfunding platform will tap the securitisation facility to deploy more than $150m in working capital to Saudi SMEs, advancing its bid to become a leading non-bank lender in the Kingdom.
Forus, the SAMA-licensed Saudi fintech that runs a debt-crowdfunding platform for small businesses, secured a $60 million securitisation debt facility from London-based investment manager Fasanara Capital in January 2025. The company said the facility could enable more than $150 million in working-capital loans to hundreds of Saudi SMEs.
Founded in 2019, Forus began lending in 2020 after receiving one of the first debt-crowdfunding licences from the Saudi Central Bank, and has since channelled over $390 million in financing to more than 400 Saudi SMEs. The facility positions Forus among the largest non-bank providers of SME debt in the Kingdom as it scales its balance sheet.
