AMD, Cisco and HUMAIN Bring AMD Instinct AI Systems Live in Saudi Arabia
The three partners switch on AMD Instinct GPU infrastructure built on Cisco networking, with plans for up to 250 MW in a next phase from 2027.
AMD, Cisco and Saudi artificial-intelligence company HUMAIN have brought AMD Instinct-based AI infrastructure live in Saudi Arabia, marking a milestone in their multi-year collaboration to build out the Kingdom's AI capacity. The go-live was announced on 31 August 2026.
The deployment uses AMD Instinct MI355X GPU-based systems running on Cisco Silicon One-based AI networking, hosted in HUMAIN's data centres and now serving HUMAIN customers. The partners said they plan to deploy up to 250 megawatts of AI infrastructure as part of the next phase of the buildout beginning in 2027, extending a program the companies first outlined during a period of intensified US-Saudi technology cooperation.
The collaboration builds on a joint venture the three firms had earlier moved to establish, with an initial 100 MW phase powered by HUMAIN's data-centre capacity, AMD Instinct accelerators and Cisco infrastructure. Over the longer term, the partners have signalled ambitions to scale to a gigawatt and beyond as HUMAIN positions Saudi Arabia as a provider of large-scale AI compute.
HUMAIN, a company owned by the Public Investment Fund, has assembled a stack of chip, networking and model partnerships as it seeks to offer full-stack AI services locally and internationally. Bringing AMD and Cisco systems into live production adds a major hardware pillar alongside HUMAIN's other infrastructure and model initiatives.
The announcement underscores how the Gulf has become a focal point for global AI infrastructure spending, with sovereign-backed players securing chips, power and data-centre capacity to build regionally hosted compute at scale.
