StartupsIndex is an intelligence and discovery platform for the MENA startup ecosystem. This policy describes how the StartupsIndex service handles information. If you have any question about it, please use the Contact page.
Information we collect
• Account / authentication: when founders or editors sign in, we process the email address associated with the account. • Newsletter: if you subscribe to The MENA Startup Brief, we store your email address. • Contact submissions: when you use the Contact form, we store your name, email, message, and any optional company or profile URL you provide. • Usage analytics: we record basic events (page views, profile views, searches) associated with a rotating, non-persistent session identifier — not your name or email. • Claim / workspace activity: actions you take while claiming or managing a company profile.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a rotating, non-persistent analytics session cookie to group anonymous usage events, authentication session cookies when you sign in, and a preference cookie to remember display settings such as language and theme. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use information
To operate and improve the product, respond to your inquiries and correction reports, send the newsletter to subscribers, and understand aggregate usage. We do not use Contact or newsletter emails for advertising.
Sharing and infrastructure
We do not sell personal data. We rely on third-party cloud infrastructure to host the application and its database. We share personal information only as needed to operate the service or where required by law.
Your choices and retention
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, request a correction to company information via the Contact page or by claiming the profile, and contact us with any privacy request. We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and for the purposes described in this policy; you can ask us to delete your data using the Contact page.
How we protect information
Access to submissions and subscriber data is restricted to authorized editors through database row-level security and least-privilege access; privileged credentials are never exposed to the browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
