Bupa Arabia Backs Dubai's Okadoc With Strategic Partnership and Equity Investment
The Saudi health insurer takes an undisclosed stake in the UAE appointment-booking platform and will route its members into instant digital care.
Okadoc, the Dubai-based patient engagement and appointment-booking platform, has secured a strategic partnership with Bupa Arabia, the Saudi-listed health insurance giant, in a deal that includes an undisclosed equity investment by the insurer. The tie-up gives Okadoc a powerful distribution channel into the Saudi market as it expands beyond the UAE.
Under the partnership, Bupa Arabia's insured members will be able to book instant medical appointments with doctors across more than 60 specialities, along with other digital health services, through Okadoc's platform. The company positions itself as a one-stop patient engagement layer that integrates directly with providers' health information and electronic medical record systems, letting patients see real-time availability and book in-person or video consultations without administrative support.
Founded in 2018 by Fodhil Benturquia, Okadoc has raised roughly $22.3 million to date from investors including iGan Partners and Bunat Ventures. The company said it is now expanding into Saudi Arabia, with planned launches spanning cloud pharmacy and in-home care services in addition to its core booking product.
The deal reflects a broader trend of Gulf insurers investing directly in digital health infrastructure to steer members toward faster, better-coordinated care while capturing efficiency gains across their networks.
