COTU Ventures said it had launched its first fund with $54m to invest in pre-seed and seed-stage startups across the Middle East, focusing primarily on the UAE and Saudi Arabia as well as Egypt and Pakistan. The firm writes initial checks of $500,000 to $2m and reserves capital for follow-ons.
The Dubai-based firm, whose name stands for Champions of the Underdog, said it had already deployed into more than 20 early-stage companies across sectors before formally unveiling the fund.
