Dubai's qlub Raises $30m Series B Led by Shorooq and Cherry Ventures to Scale Restaurant Payments
The QR-based dine-in payments fintech adds e&, Mubadala and Legend Capital as it pushes to become core infrastructure for hospitality.
qlub, a Dubai-based fintech that lets restaurant diners pay by scanning a QR code at their table, has raised $30 million in a Series B round co-led by Shorooq Partners and Cherry Ventures. The round drew participation from e&, Mubadala Investments and Legend Capital.
The company's platform lets guests access digital menus, order and settle their bills from their phones without waiting for staff or a physical payment terminal. qlub said it operates across more than 10 markets with over 3,000 restaurant partners, processing billions of dollars in annual payment volume and serving millions of monthly customers, with clients including Wagamama, Sushi Samba and La Petite Maison.
"qlub makes paying at restaurants ten times faster, and that elevates the entire dining experience," said co-chief executive Eyad Alkassar. Shorooq founding partner Mahmoud Adi praised the team's ability to "blend product innovation with deep market understanding," while Cherry Ventures' Filip Dames said the company had shown "how technology can simplify and modernise hospitality."
The company said it would use the funding to enter new geographies, add advanced analytics and pursue deeper integrations with hospitality platforms, as it seeks to position itself as core payments infrastructure for the restaurant industry rather than a standalone checkout tool.
