Egypt's Yodawy Raises $16m in First Close of Series B Co-Led by Delivery Hero Ventures and Global Ventures
The pharmacy benefits manager takes total funding to $24.5m as it scales its insurance-linked medicine platform across Egypt.
Yodawy, an Egyptian healthtech that operates as a pharmacy benefits manager, has raised $16 million in the first close of a Series B round co-led by Delivery Hero Ventures and Global Ventures. The financing lifts the company's total capital raised to about $24.5 million.
The round drew participation from AAIC Investment and Dallah Albaraka, alongside existing backers including Middle East Venture Partners, C-Ventures and P1 Ventures. Founded in 2018 by Karim Khashaba, Yasser AbdelGawad and Sherief El-Feky, Yodawy connects pharmacies, insurance companies and fast-moving consumer goods firms with patients, digitising the claims and fulfilment process that sits between insurers and drug dispensing.
Yodawy said it would use the proceeds to grow its flagship pharmacy benefits management program, which automates and adjudicates medicine claims for insurers and their members, a segment where manual paperwork has long created friction and leakage. The company has built its position by integrating with insurers and a broad network of pharmacies across Egypt.
The raise came as investors continued to back healthtech models that layer software and financing onto the region's fragmented pharmacy and insurance value chains, targeting both cost savings for payers and convenience for patients.
