Nama Ventures said it had received approval from Saudi Arabia's Capital Market Authority to begin investment-management operations locally, making it the first foreign venture capital firm fully regulated under the Kingdom's capital-markets law.
The licence allows Nama to launch its flagship and Shariah-compliant vehicles targeting pre-seed and seed startups across Saudi Arabia and MENA. Its SAR120m ($32m) debut fund has previously backed regional companies including Salla and Tamara.
