Saudi B2B Marketplace Retailo Raises $15m to Accelerate Regional Expansion
The digital distribution platform for micro-retailers and restaurants pulls in strategic backers to reinforce its lead in the Gulf.
Retailo, a Saudi Arabia-based B2B digital distribution platform serving micro-retailers and restaurants, has raised $15 million in equity funding to accelerate its regional expansion. The round brought in a group of new strategic investors alongside returning backers.
New participants included the Yusuf Bin Kanoo Group, Technology Group and Majd Digital, while existing investors Aujan Group Holdings, Shorooq Partners, Abercross Holdings and Graphene Ventures also joined. Founded in 2020 by Talha Ansari, Wahaj Ahmed and Mohammad Nowkhaiz, Retailo runs a next-day delivery service that gives small shops and restaurants access to a catalogue of thousands of stock-keeping units, cutting out layers of traditional wholesale distribution.
The raise added to a total that has seen Retailo secure tens of millions of dollars across equity and venture debt, capital it has used to build fulfilment and logistics capacity across its core markets. The company has positioned itself as a technology-led alternative to the informal supply chains that still dominate grocery and food-service procurement in the region.
Retailo's financing reflected investor interest in B2B marketplaces that digitise traditional trade, a segment that has attracted significant regional capital as founders race to consolidate fragmented retailer bases across the Gulf and beyond.
