Student-Discounts Platform Unipal Closes Pre-Series A to Expand Across Saudi Arabia
The Bahrain-born startup, backed by Plus VC and Aljazira Capital, will grow into Jeddah, Madinah, Dammam and Khobar and launch an AI-driven app.

Unipal, the Bahrain-founded student-offers platform, closed a pre-Series A round led by Plus VC in February 2025, with participation from Aljazira Capital, RZM Investments, Falak Angels and Doha Tech Angels. The amount was undisclosed.
Founded in 2020 by Ali Al-Alawi and Ali Al-Shaer, Unipal provides discounts to university students and says it registered 98% of Bahrain's student population before expanding to Riyadh, where it grew to 250,000 users and 700 brands. The funding will support expansion into more Saudi cities and a new AI-driven app.
